F&DT Engineer

Location: Hamburg Germany

Role Summary
The F&DT Engineer will support Fatigue and Damage Tolerance activities for the A400M program with specific responsibility for ensuring compliance to AMM requirements and supporting accreditation processes. The role involves structural analysis documentation data validation and close collaboration with certification bodies and internal engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analyses for metallic and composite structures on the A400M platform.
  • Develop review and update AMM (Aircraft Maintenance Manual) tasks related to structural integrity and inspection programs.
  • Prepare technical justification reports and analysis notes supporting accreditation and airworthiness approvals.
  • Ensure alignment with relevant Airbus methods allowable datasets and certification guidelines.
  • Validate analysis inputs load cases and material data according to Airbus and regulatory standards.
  • Support internal and external audits for A400M structural accreditation.
  • Coordinate with design stress M&P and certification teams to resolve technical queries.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and provide fatigue-related recommendations for repairs or modifications.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Aerospace Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of Fatigue & Damage Tolerance principles and methodologies.
  • Experience working on military transport aircraft programs (A400M experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with AMM structures MSG-3 logic and maintenance program development.
  • Proficiency with Airbus structural analysis tools and F&DT processes is an advantage.
  • Good technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work in multi-functional international teams.

Preferred

  • Experience with accreditation or certification activities (EASA/EMAR).
  • Knowledge of Airbus processes (e.g. ISAMI AIRBUS Stress Methods).
