Job Summary

Finance Assistant

Reporting to the Controller the FinanceAssistant position is responsible for the preparation and processing of allinvoices and associated activities for accounts payable revenue and cashaccounting entries and associated reporting activities. The Finance Assistantsupports the Controller in accurate data retrieval when preparing presentationsto the board of finance and audit committee and works closely within theFinance department team. The Finance Assistant ensures all dailyreconciliations are in place to support finance operations.

PrimaryResponsibilities:

Preparing and processinginvoices and all associated Accounts Payable activities.


Support payroll processing to ensure employees arepaid accurately and on time.

Completing revenue andcash accounting entries including daily reconciliations.

Preparing and postingjournal entries with accuracy and timeliness.

Performing bank andaccount reconciliations to support month-end and year-end processes.

Setting up tracking andreporting capital assets and maintaining depreciation schedules.

Assisting in thepreparation of budgets forecasts and financial statements.

Conducting financialanalysis and supporting monthly and quarterly reporting.

Preparing electronic fundtransfers (EFTs) and cheque payments.

Maintaining accuratefinancial data entry and documentation following internal controls.

Supporting the Controllerwith data retrieval and financial information for Board Finance and AuditCommittee presentations.

Collaborating with theFinance team to ensure smooth financial operations and continuous processimprovement.

Supporting the interimand year-end audit

Performing generalfinance administrative duties as required.

Qualifications

Diploma or certificate in Accounting Finance or arelated field (degree considered an asset).

Minimum 12 years of experience in accounting orfinance operations or an equivalent combination of relevant education andcertification.

Experience with Accounts Payable reconciliationsand journal entries preferred.

Knowledge of payroll processes is an asset.

Experience with accounting software ERP systemsand PayWorks.

Strong computer skills (Microsoft OfficeApplications).

Strong interpersonal and influencing skillsbuilding and maintaining a network of working relationships with both internaland external clients and stakeholders.

Highly organized multi-tasker self-motivateddetail-focused and able to work without direct supervision or extensivedirection.

Strong professional and ethical standardsintegrity objectivity and confidence.

Skilled in data compilation tracking collationanalysis and report development.

PhysicalRequirements

Regularly lifting weights files folders etc rangingfrom 25 to 50 lbs. Additional tasks may involve varying levels of intensity inactivities such as lifting standing walking balancing reachingoverhead/forward/side occasional climbing bending/stooping and kneeling.

WorkingConditions

This position requires the incumbent towork in a standard office environment with minimal physical effort demands;this position requires regular computer-based work and frequent interactionwith internal staff and external vendors. Due to the nature of this positionmental stress varies as this position requires occasional extended hours duringpeak periods such as month-end year-end and audit cycles. Work requires ahigh level of accuracy attention to detail and the ability to meet tightdeadlines. The role involves handling confidential financial informationperforming repetitive data entry tasks and occasionally lifting light officematerials.

About the position: This is a Full-timeNon-Union position. The hours of work are 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (35 hours aweek) from Monday to Friday; however the role does require occasional extendedhours. The comprehensive compensation package includes health and dentalbenefits in addition to insurance coverage.

Hiring wage:The annual compensation for this role is $46787 to $58484 (under review)
