A Day in the Life of a CADD Manager
As a CADD Manager you will play a pivotal role in our CADD operations and standards that advance how people safely and conveniently move. You will develop and manage company standards and workflows that produce high quality transportation infrastructure projects for our communities. Your focus will be on guiding the firms designers to apply industry best practices to produce a wide variety of CADD-based deliverables from concept to detailed final design plans for construction.
You will support our multi-disciplined team of engineers landscape architects urban designers and CADD technicians to prepare quality graphically consistent and technically accurate deliverables. Working with our CADD users youll be responsible for CADD efficiency trainings standards communications troubleshooting and overseeing the CADD practice. Toole Design currently operates multiple CADD design software platforms including AutoCAD Civil 3D MicroStation OpenRoads Designer and Bluebeam.
Qualifications of a CADD Manager:
- Associate degree or Certification in CADD Engineering Technology or comparable additional experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree
- 15 years of experience preferably in roadway design
- 4 years of experience of CADD Management
- Must have skills with AutoCAD or MicroStation in a roadway design environment
- Familiarity of modeling components of Civil 3D or OpenRoads Designer
- Experience developing templates standards and workflows in AutoCAD/Civil 3D or MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer
- Experience in user and environment configuration for MicroStation or AutoCAD operating systems
- Experience working in a CADD consulting environment interacting with internal colleagues and external consultants
It would be a plus if you have any of the following:
- Experience with corridor modeling in Civil 3D or OpenRoads Designer
- Experience with MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer workspace setup and maintenance
- Experience with Bluebeam including troubleshooting custom profiles and tool chest development
- Familiarity with computer hardware operating systems and basic networking (troubleshooting)
- Experience with ProjectWise configuration and maintenance

Work Schedule for a CADD Manager
This full-time position typically works a flexible schedule of 40 hours a week. We also provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home 2 days per week. The Columbus office of Toole Design opened in 2018 and is conveniently located in downtown Columbus on Broad Street across from Capitol Square. The office is easily accessed on foot by bicycle and via transit.
We are targeting a salary of $100000 to $130000 for this position. Additional compensation may be available for exceptionally qualified candidates who exceed job requirements.
