Join our team as a Compliance consultant (2LOD) and help leading financial institutions strengthen their regulatory this role you will provide independent oversight challenge and advise to ensure alignment with key regulations such as GDPR MiFID II Solvency II Basel III and DORA shaping compliance programs and guiding clients through complex regulatory environments. Acting as a trusted second line of defence you will support clients in enhancing governance risk management and operational resilience in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.

We help them understand how and where the upcoming regulations have an impact within their organization and help with remediations of gaps within existing regulatory guidelines.

What will you do

Your strong affinity and practical expertise in Compliance enable you to provide independent oversight and advisory support helping organizations strengthen their compliance posture ensure adherence to legal and industry standards and foster a culture of integrity and accountability.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Provide independent assurance and challenge on client compliance frameworks ensuring effectiveness of controls and governance structures.

  • Advise senior stakeholders on regulatory obligations within frameworks such as GDPR MiFID II Solvency II Basel III and DORA.

  • Assess and review compliance policies and governance frameworks recommending enhancements aligned with industry standards and best practices.

  • Monitor regulatory developments and evaluate their impact guiding clients on proactive adjustments to compliance strategies.

  • Lead thematic reviews compliance risk assessments and second-line audits ensuring consistency and accountability across client operations.

  • Identify gaps and propose remediation plans strengthening compliance effectiveness and operational resilience.

  • Deliver training and awareness programs promoting a strong compliance culture within client organizations.

Job requirements

Your Skills & Qualifications

  • A degree in a relevant field (i.e. law criminology )

  • Recognized compliance certificate (i.e. Febelfin ICA ACAMS)

  • Excellent knowledge of business English and fluency in Dutch or French

  • 5 years in compliance regulatory risk or as a compliance officer with experience in leading projects

  • At least 1 year of experience within the financial services sector

  • Experience in consulting is a strong plus (preferably on Risk & Compliance topics)

  • Strong understanding of legal frameworks and financial regulations with a commitment to ongoing learning

  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for identifying monitor emerging risks and regulatory changes that may impact the organization.
