The Service & Team:
Area Youth Workers will be a part of a new team being formed to work on the Youth Transformation Pilot Project funded by the Department of Culture Media & Sport. There is one post covering the East one covering the Mid and one for the West all posts are available as a 12-month secondment or as a fixed term contract. The Youth Work Pilot is a part of our Early Help Support offer for Children Young people and their families
The Role
The Youth Transformation Pilot is a 12 month Pathfinder Project. This is an exciting time to look at our Youth Offer in Cornwall and how we can develop this more. As an Area Youth Worker you will be part of a transformation team developing the Youth Workforce and our Youth Offer
The post offers an exciting opportunity to work with a range of youth partners and young people in an area building the Youth Offer and offering collaborative working & training. Working with our Voluntary and Community partners the Area Youth Worker plays a crucial role in bringing together an Area Youth Forum so that young peoples voices are listened to and shared in places that also bringing together our youth work colleagues into a virtual hub that meets regularly and collaborates across the area and the sector. Through this we aim to develop some useful youth work and thematic training to look at the universal youth offers and to celebrate the successes. The Virtual Hub will be a useful place to bring and share information & opportunities with each other and to help support existing services for young people.
There will also be some evening work - visiting existing youth provisions possibly evening meetings and holding Youth Forum. The Area Youth Worker will also link with a pilot school in the area and may develop some themed group work aimed at some of our vulnerable young people and encourage some of these young people to be a part of the Youth Forum
Alongside of this we want young people to co-produce our Youth Pages on the Family Information site and to be part of the awarding of our grants to youth work providers
It is an ideal role for anyone wanting to develop their youth work skills in a different environment and thereis scope for flexibility and creative thinking.

Working Pattern:
Monday to Friday 37 hours a week and some evening work.
What youll need to succeed:
JNC Level 6 qualification or considerable experience of working with teenagers / young people in an informal education setting.
