Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and improve manufacturing tooling dies jigs and fixtures.
- Oversee the maintenance repair and modification of all production tooling.
- Diagnose and resolve complex tooling issues implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Optimize tooling performance lifespan and cost-efficiency through continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with manufacturing design and quality teams to ensure tooling meets production requirements.
- Select and specify appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for tooling.
- Manage tooling projects from concept through implementation and validation.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience in tooling design development or maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD Mastercam) for tool design and simulation.
- Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes such as machining stamping injection molding or casting.
- Knowledge of tooling materials heat treatment GD&T and DFM principles.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling-related production issues.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or mold flow simulation software.
- Knowledge of Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) applications for tooling.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
- Experience with automation integration for tooling systems.
