Key Responsibilities

• Design build and repair precision tools dies jigs and fixtures.
• Operate and set up a wide range of manual and CNC machine tools.
• Interpret complex blueprints schematics and engineering specifications.
• Perform precision measurements and quality checks using metrology equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tooling malfunctions to minimize production downtime.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to optimize tool performance and design.
• Select appropriate materials and heat treatments for tool construction.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Journeyman Tool Maker or equivalent.
• Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machine tools (lathes mills grinders EDMs).
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints GD&T and technical specifications.
• Expertise in precision measurement techniques and the use of inspection equipment.
• Strong knowledge of tool steels heat treatment processes and their application.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with advanced CAD/CAM software (e.g. SolidWorks Mastercam).
• Experience with TIG/MIG welding for tool repair or modification.
• Knowledge of heat treatment processes for various tool steels.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
