The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Whitehall seeking Tool Makers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints sketches and specifications to plan and execute tool fabrication.
• Fabricate machine and assemble precision tools dies jigs fixtures and gauges.
• Operate a variety of machine tools including lathes mills grinders and CNC equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance repair and modification of existing tooling.
• Inspect finished tools for accuracy functionality and adherence to quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related issues impacting manufacturing processes.
• Select appropriate materials and heat treatments for optimal tool performance.

Recommended Qualifications

• Experience operating and programming precision machining equipment (manual and CNC mills lathes grinders EDM).
• Proficiency in interpreting blueprints CAD models and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of metrology and skilled in using precision measuring instruments.
• Proven ability to build repair and maintain complex tooling dies jigs and fixtures.
• Completion of a formal Tool Maker apprenticeship or equivalent 5 years of relevant experience.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with advanced CAD/CAM software.
• Experience with multi-axis CNC programming and operation.
• Familiarity with CMM programming and advanced metrology techniques.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
