Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate assemble and repair precision tools dies jigs and fixtures according to engineering blueprints and specifications.
• Operate and set up a variety of machine shop equipment including lathes mills grinders and CNC machines to produce components with tight tolerances.
• Inspect finished tools and components for accuracy quality and adherence to design specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Troubleshoot diagnose and resolve tooling malfunctions or production issues to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings schematics and CAD models to plan and execute tooling projects.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on tooling to ensure longevity and consistent operational efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Journeyman Tool Maker or in a similar precision machining role.
• Proficiency in operating and setting up manual machining equipment (lathes mills surface grinders) and CNC machinery.
• Demonstrated ability to build repair troubleshoot and maintain complex tooling dies molds jigs and fixtures.
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints GD&T and proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of various metals alloys and heat treatment processes relevant to tool making.

Bonus Qualifications

• CNC programming and CAM software experience
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD Inventor)
• Experience with CMM operation and programming
• Jig and fixture design experience
