Key Responsibilities
- Perform calibration verification and preventative maintenance of measurement equipment and gages.
- Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other advanced metrology instruments.
- Analyze measurement data identify deviations and generate detailed inspection reports.
- Troubleshoot and repair measurement instruments fixtures and systems.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings specifications and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Develop document and maintain calibration procedures and work instructions.
- Provide technical support to production and quality teams on measurement techniques and equipment usage.
Recommended Qualifications
- Proficiency in operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other precision measurement equipment (e.g. calipers micrometers optical comparators).
- Strong understanding and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Ability to read interpret and work from complex engineering blueprints schematics and specifications.
- Experience with calibration procedures measurement uncertainty and maintaining traceability of measurement standards.
- Familiarity with metrology software packages (e.g. PC-DMIS Calypso) and data analysis tools.
- Associate's degree in Metrology Engineering Technology or a related technical field or equivalent work experience.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with non-contact measurement systems (e.g. laser scanning vision systems structured light).
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD CATIA) for model-based inspection or CMM programming.
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles and software applications in a manufacturing context.
- ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or other relevant metrology certification.
