Key Responsibilities
- Perform precise calibration and verification of measurement tools and equipment.
- Conduct dimensional inspections of manufactured parts and assemblies using various metrology instruments.
- Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other automated measurement systems.
- Interpret engineering drawings GD&T specifications and quality standards to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Document and maintain detailed records of calibration activities inspection results and equipment maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with measurement equipment and processes implementing corrective actions.
- Support production and engineering teams by providing measurement data and metrology expertise.
Recommended Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Metrology Quality or a related technical field or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in using precision measurement tools such as calipers micrometers gauges and CMMs
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with calibration procedures and maintaining measurement equipment
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001) and data analysis software
Bonus Qualifications
- CMM or Vision System programming experience
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD)
- Experience utilizing statistical analysis software (e.g. Minitab JMP)
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification or similar continuous improvement training
- Experience in the design or fabrication of measurement fixtures
