Key Responsibilities

• Perform calibration maintenance and repair of precision measurement equipment.
• Operate program and troubleshoot Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other advanced metrology systems.
• Conduct dimensional inspections first article inspections and in-process checks of manufactured parts.
• Analyze measurement data identify non-conformances and generate detailed inspection reports.
• Develop and optimize measurement methods procedures and fixturing.
• Maintain accurate calibration records and ensure compliance with quality standards (e.g. ISO 17025).
• Collaborate with engineering and production to resolve measurement-related issues and improve part quality.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency with precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers micrometers CMMs optical comparators).
• Strong understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and blueprint reading.
• Experience operating and/or programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
• Knowledge of calibration processes measurement uncertainty and quality standards (e.g. ISO 9001).
• Technical degree or certificate in Metrology Machining or a related engineering discipline.

Bonus Qualifications

• Advanced CMM programming skills (e.g. PCDMIS Calypso) beyond basic operation.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks) for model-based inspection and fixture design.
• Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Yellow or Green Belt).
• Experience with specialized non-contact measurement systems (e.g. laser trackers structured light scanners).
