Key Responsibilities

  • Manages full-cycle recruitment for manufacturing production and skilled trades positions.
  • Provides employee relations support addressing workplace conflicts disciplinary actions and grievances specific to a plant environment.
  • Administers HR policies and procedures ensuring compliance with federal state and local labor laws including OSHA regulations.
  • Supports performance management processes including reviews goal setting and corrective action for production staff.
  • Oversees new hire onboarding and offboarding processes tailored for manufacturing roles.
  • Maintains accurate HR records and manages HRIS data for the manufacturing workforce.
  • Assists in identifying training needs and coordinating development programs for plant employees focusing on safety and operational skills.
  • Collaborates with management on safety initiatives and incident investigations to promote a safe working environment.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience with a significant portion in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws OSHA regulations and HR best practices.
  • Proven experience in employee relations conflict resolution and performance management.
  • Proficiency in full-cycle recruitment and talent acquisition especially for production and skilled trades roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage HR functions including benefits administration payroll support and HRIS utilization.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g. Spanish).
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification or demonstrated involvement in manufacturing safety programs.
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
