Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine product designs and components using CAD software.
• Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models in accordance with industry standards.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) analyses.
• Collaborate with manufacturing production and quality teams to ensure design intent and successful production.
• Generate and maintain technical documentation including Bills of Material (BOMs) and specifications.
• Support prototyping testing and validation of new designs and design changes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design or a related technical field.
• Demonstrated proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks Inventor CATIA) and FEA tools.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining injection molding sheet metal) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Experience with prototyping testing and validation of mechanical designs.
• Knowledge of material properties and selection for various industrial applications.
• Ability to apply GD&T principles and interpret complex technical drawings.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation software.
• Strong understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Hands-on prototyping testing or fabrication experience.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
