Key Responsibilities

• Develop and design new products components and assemblies for manufacturing.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models engineering drawings and specifications.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to optimize performance cost and manufacturability.
• Conduct design analysis simulations and prototyping to validate concepts and ensure functionality.
• Collaborate with manufacturing production and quality teams to ensure design feasibility and smooth implementation.
• Identify and implement design improvements for existing products to enhance performance reliability or cost-effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot design-related issues and provide engineering support during production.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks Inventor Creo CATIA).
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g. machining injection molding sheet metal fabrication welding).
• Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Knowledge of material science and selection for manufacturing applications.
• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced GD&T application and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Familiarity with CAM software or CNC programming principles.
• Proficiency in scripting or automation for CAD software (e.g. Python VBA).
• Experience with specific advanced manufacturing processes (e.g. Additive Manufacturing Composites Robotics).
