The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure raw materials components and MRO items required for manufacturing operations.
• Negotiate favorable terms pricing and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and optimize value.
• Manage and develop strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure on-time delivery quality and performance.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production planning to prevent shortages or excess stock.
• Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with quality standards and delivery schedules.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering production and quality teams to understand material requirements and specifications.
• Identify and implement strategies for cost reduction process improvement and supply chain optimization.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years of direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proven negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle Dynamics 365) for procurement functions
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes technical specifications and quality requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration Engineering or a related field

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with common manufacturing processes (e.g. machining injection molding fabrication).
• Proficiency in a second language relevant to international sourcing.
• Certification or practical experience in Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Basic understanding of cost accounting principles or Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
