Key Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials components and MRO items.
• Negotiate pricing terms and delivery schedules with vendors.
• Generate and manage purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure material availability and minimize excess stock.
• Collaborate with production engineering and quality teams on material specifications.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and negotiation.
• Resolve supplier performance issues related to quality delivery and compliance.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years of direct purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for procurement processes (e.g. SAP Oracle Microsoft Dynamics).
• Demonstrated strong negotiation supplier relationship management and contract management skills.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications blueprints and understand manufacturing processes.
• Proven track record of cost reduction strategic sourcing and supplier performance improvement.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes materials or components relevant to the industry.
• Experience utilizing advanced ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP MM Oracle SCM) for purchasing functions.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Certifications in supply chain management (e.g. CPSM CPIM).
• Experience with global sourcing and international logistics.
