The Geel site is the largest chemical production site for small molecule API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) within the Johnson & Johnson supplies chain. Maintenance Manager Geel

Are you a hands-on maintenance leader who thrives in regulated manufacturing environments and enjoys building reliable high-performing teams Join our Global Engineering & Technology (GET) organization at the Geel site the largest small molecule API production site in our supply chain and help ensure lifesaving medicines reach patients safely and reliably.

About the role

As Maintenance Manager you will lead a multidisciplinary maintenance team in a business unit driving flawless execution of preventive and corrective maintenance improving equipment reliability and supporting launch & grow activities for new products. You will be a visible operational leader who coaches technicians work preparers and schedulers and a maintenance engineer prioritizes work to minimize downtime and partners with operations and reliability teams to deliver sustainable improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Operational leadership of technicians work preparers and schedulers and a maintenance engineer to ensure safe compliant and timely execution of maintenance work (preventive corrective calibrations testing overhauls).
• Coach and develop staff foster continuous improvement and empower the maintenance organization
• Prioritize maintenance requests according to site priorities to minimize production downtime to protect product quality and guarantee safety
• Ensure maintenance execution meets safety quality and cost targets.
• Collaborate with plant managers and reliability engineers to identify mid- and long-term improvements and support CAPEX business cases.
• Drive digitization standardization of work processes and reliability practices across maintenance teams.
• Participate in the Geel GET Maintenance & Reliability Leadership team and contribute to site-level initiatives.

Qualifications & skills

Required

• Masters degree or equivalent experience (Engineering Science or similar) or strong demonstrable experience.
• Proven people leadership skills and ability to communicate across all levels.
• Structured approach strong organizational and change-management capability.
• Strong safety and quality mindset (experience in regulated environments preferred).
• Passion for process equipment and technology.
  

Desired

• Hands-on experience within Maintenance & Engineering (CMMS work preparation shutdown/overhaul planning).
• Experience partnering with reliability engineers and leading CAPEX or continuous improvement projects.
• Familiarity with GMP and SEVESO site requirements is a plus.
