Manulifes Global Sustainability & Impact team is seeking a Director Sustainability Reporting & Strategy to lead our global sustainability reporting and disclosuresboth voluntary and regulatoryand help accelerate progress against our Impact Agenda.
In this role youll report to AVP Global Sustainability and collaborate with a passionate team of sustainability professionals and cross-functional partners across the organization. Position Responsibilities:
Lead the Sustainability Reporting & Disclosure team providing coaching and leadership to direct reports.
Oversee the production and publication of Manulifes annual Sustainability Report Public Accountability Statement and related disclosures.
Oversee Manulifes sustainability reporting process including maintaining strong governance contributing to data collection and third-party assurance.
Manage Manulifes responses to ESG raters and rankers including MSCI S&P Sustainalytics Corporate Knights among others.
Develop executive caliber materials to ensure all levels of Manulifes sustainability governance structure are informed of progress against strategy.
Collaborate closely with Legal Compliance Government Relations and other teams in monitoring assessment and compliance efforts to track the sustainability regulatory landscape across the jurisdictions Manulife operates in.
Drive continuous improvement of internal sustainability reporting by developing and maintaining policies and overseeing the design of dashboards frameworks and tools for in-depth analytics to inform management decisions and support organizational change.
Lead best-practice research and analysis contributing to the sustainability strategy development
Lead the day-to-day operations and sessions of the Sustainability Centre of Expertise including setting developing meeting agendas and materials.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. community investment) to integrate sustainability considerations into business operations and decision-making processes and provide subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders on matters related to sustainability disclosure in efforts to increase our performance.
Stay informed of emerging sustainability-related policies regulations standards and industry trends providing strategic guidance on opportunities and challenges.
Act as a trusted advisor and collaborator with procurement investor relations facilities finance legal marketing human resources corporate governance communications and others to help operationalize the sustainability strategy drive performance and communicate to key stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in a relevant field ideally with a focus on sustainability corporate responsibility or similar.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate sustainability or related discipline (inclusive of post graduate experience) with experience in the financial sector or with consulting firms is considered a strong asset.
In-depth knowledge and experience with the voluntary sustainability reporting frameworks (i.e. SASB GRI) and regulatory frameworks (OSFI B15 ISSB).
In-depth experience preparing disclosures and responses to rating agencies such as MSCI S&Ps Corporate Sustainability Assessment Morningstar Sustainalytics and others.
Excellent research writing and synthesizing skills with the ability to communicate complex information succinctly.
Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of tools especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong people skills with ability to develop and maintain relationships internally and externally build consensus and drive change through effective collaboration.
Excellent project management skills.

Salary range is expected to be between
$105750.00 CAD - $190350.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location please contact for the salary range for your location.
