Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Environmental Services Manager youll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized. This protects everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards.
Every day you will perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping mopping or dusting. You will also use specialized equipment and techniques to further sanitize our facility. This role requires you to learn and adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials including bodily fluids or sharp objects. You may also refill soap dispensers paper towel dispensers and other supplies as well as deliver clean linens.
To be successful in this role you are thorough and committed to safety. You truly are the most important component contributing to the safety and comfort of our patients visitors and staff. A well-maintained facility with compassionate staff brings comfort and peace of mind to patients their loved ones and all who serve here.
- Completes performance reviews disciplinary actions scheduling employee engagement survey action planning interviewing hiring and retention of staff.
- Collaboration with other departments EOC IP/IC committees.
- Evaluates and makes recommendations for environmental hygiene maintenance for new floor coverings wall coverings furnishings and interior finishes prior to purchase.
- Manages departmental budgets (e.g. capital projects supplies operations).
- Ensures regulated medical waste is handled packaged stored and disposed of in accordance with federal and state regulations and appropriate documentation is maintained.
- Manages the necessary and required resources for the environmental services department and provides recommendations for staffing levels products and equipment. Completes all Human Resources responsibilities for interviewing hiring managing staff development corrective actions and / or staff engagement needs.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years in Environmental Services. and
- 1 year in Supervisory level experience managing and scheduling staff. and
Preferred
- Bachelors Other upon hire
- Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Tech upon hire
