Job Summary
Job Title:Shop Yard Maintenance / Parts Runner
Location: Hampton VA
Reports to:Shop Foreman
Major Role and Purpose:
- Perform general cleaning of the shop facility and the shop yard. Deliver parts needed for the shop and assigned job locations.
- Perform general cleaning of the shop facility and the shop yard.
- Empty shop trash cans and bins.
- Use of a water truck to water down the shop yard for dust control.
- Run a sweeper on the road for dust control.
- Deliver parts needed for the shop and assigned job locations.
- Perform all job duties in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Gain an understanding of basic parts processes and proper maintenance procedures as instructed by knowledgeable shop staff.
- Aid senior level mechanics and shop staff on larger projects.
- Participate in training and other learning opportunities.
- Perform all other job duties deemed necessary.
- High School DiplomaPreferred.
- Previous shop experienceand parts delivery experience preferred.
- Effective communication and organization skills.
- Must have a valid Drivers License in good standing.
- Job requires the following motions: stretching bending lifting pushing pulling twisting throwing walking standing reaching and squatting.
- Walking or standing may occupy the entire day.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Potential exposure to extremes of hot or cold weather.
- Overtime work may be required.
