Caterpillar Inc. is the worlds leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment off-highway diesel and natural gas engines industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Material Planner to join our Large Power Systems team to support Caterpillar large engine production at our Kiel facility.
What You Will Do:
Be responsible for scheduling planning and oversight of material procurement production and delivery.
Coordinate flow of materials within the manufacturing facility. Coordinating transfer of materials (premium freight) to and from inventory or warehouse.
Develop and execute material planning for a product line. Ensuring that all material requirements for assigned programs are satisfied within the allocated time frame.
Schedule and control the release of materials. Monitoring material inventory in the plant in the warehouse and by critical suppliers.
Building up and following up procurement plan realization to ensure they align with business objectives.
Track and analyze supplier performance metrics. Collaborating and negotiating with supplier to deliver materials per requirements.
What You Have (Key Skills/Experience Required):
Knowledge and experience of material planning to support a manufacturing operation.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches tools techniques for recognizing anticipating and resolving organizational operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP): Knowledge of the processes practices and systems used in manufacturing requirements planning (MRP); ability to optimize planning for manufacturing cycles and ensure capacity and materials availability.
Supplier Management: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge experience and skills into real practice.
Very good German (at least C1) and very good English skills (at least B2).
What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):
Previous Experience of Material Planning Processes & Practices.
Additional Information:
This role requires your presence at our Kiel facility and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
Note - A valid work permit or EU-25/EFTA citizenship is required for this position.
