About the role:

As the Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (CDIS) you will support and enhance the provision of patient centred care at St. Vincents Private Hospital Toowoomba. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team you will be responsible for improving the overall quality accurateness and completeness of patient medical records and clinical documentation.

St Vincents Private Hospital Toowoomba is the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs. We are a 197-bed facility with highly experienced and skilled staff that work as a team to deliver the highest standard of healthcare to all our patients. Our services include medical surgical maternity paediatric emergency cardiac and rehabilitation.

Things that work for us:

  • Registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) as aRegistered Nurse

  • Ability to work on a permanent part time basis (30 hours per week)

  • Ability to maintain collaborative and effective relationships with all multidisciplinary team members

  • Strong commitment to improving the quality of clinical documentation

  • Ability to participate in and support education activities and to contribute to the development of self and other team members

  • Have a working knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations and legislation

  • Have knowledge of the different funding models and applications of PHI contracts regarding coding DRGs and the impact of these in relation to documentation
