JOB SUMMARY
The Surgical Technician Extern is a student who participates in perioperative care under the supervision of Surgical Technician. This role provides hands-on learning opportunities in a clinical environment supporting the surgical team before during and after procedures while gaining proficiency in sterile techniques instrumentation and patient safety protocols.JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS
Type: Part Time (20 hours per 2 week pay period with benefits)
Education
- Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an accreditedSurgicalTechnology program.
- Completion of coresurgicaltechnology coursework including anatomy physiology microbiology and perioperative procedures.
License/Certifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or equivalent- required prior to clinical participation.
Experience
- Understanding of aseptic and sterile technique and infection prevention measures.
- Knowledge of basicsurgicalinstruments and equipment.
