Occuptational Therapy Practice Tutor

The Occupational Therapist Practice Tutor primarily based on-site will be responsible for ensuring adequate placement capacity and maintaining high standards of quality in Occupational Therapy practice education across OLH&CS. The post holder will establish clear learning pathways for students and provide support to practice educators throughout the OLH&CS sites. They will also contribute to the delivery of designated practice education modules within the University programme and are expected to be available during the core weeks of student placements. Additionally the post holder will oversee the quality and effectiveness of clinical education and collaborate with OLH&CS and University staff to further develop the clinical education programme promoting the integration of theory with practice and supporting evidence-based learning.
Note: The interview will take place sometime in early January 2026. the exact date will be communicated after shortlisting.
Essential Criteria:
- Be registered on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU or satisfy the conditions set out in Section 91.
- 3 years post qualification clinical experience with 1 year post graduate experience in Palliative Care or Older Persons Services or Rheumatology
- Experience of teaching supervising and mentoring Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy students.
Desirable Criteria:
- Membership of the Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland (AOTI) and /or equivalent Occupational Therapy professional body
- Membership of a relevant AOTI Advisory Group
- Post graduate training / qualifications in Practice Education
- Participation in standards setting outcome measurement clinical audit and research
