We are looking for an Management Accountant to join our thriving finance team in Crawley. The ideal candidate will support with financial reports budgeting and forecasting. Working closely with the depot manager this is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate looking to gain additional exposure to month end management accounts.
This is a full time permanent position working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (some flexibility will be needed on working hours depending on business need) offering a competitive salary and package with the opportunity to work for a forward thinking market leader.
Job Purpose
As a Management Accountant you will be responsible for providing a management accounting service to the operation including; management accounts preparation budgeting forecasting decision support and ad hoc analysis.
Key Responsibilities of a Management Accountant:
- Prepare weekly P&L performance information by site in preparation for weekly performance reviews including variance analysis to latest budget /forecast
- Preparation (alongside the core Finance team) of the monthly accounts for the site including in depth commentary and analysis on the performance as well as comparison to key KPIs
- To assist with the preparation of the annual budget plan for the site liaising with budget holders to understand requirements
- Refresh the site forecasts quarterly to highlight expected performance versus budget
- Support credit control in ensuring prompt customer payment to terms including prompt turnaround of customer invoice queries.
- Delivery of focused and effective site specific financial information to aid achievement of site budgets.
- Challenge site spending in a constructive and supportive manner
- To undertake cost centre analysis as required as part of the month end process or on an ad-hoc basis
- To issue cost centre reports on a monthly basis or when required to cost centre managers
- To ensure regional and site compliance with group authority mandates (GO)
- Monitor and improve quality and flow of purchase order requests from region to facilitate accurate financial records and prompt supplier payment.
- Ad-hoc projects as required
Qualifications :
- CIMA Part Qualified or AAT qualified
- A background including logistics experience preferable but not essential
- Must have a higher level knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- SAP knowledge would be desirable though not essential as training will be provided
- Commercially and operationally astute
- Self-motivated and confident
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management
- Good team player with the drive to see tasks through to completion and to meet deadlines set
- Excellent attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
