About the Role
You will play an essential role in ensuring the school operates smoothly on a daily basis. Responsibilities include:
Opening securing and maintaining the school buildings and grounds
Carrying out minor repairs maintenance tasks painting and basic DIY
Supervising cleaning teams and liaising with external contractors when needed
Conducting daily site checks and reporting any safety concerns
Monitoring heating lighting security and fire alarm systems
Ensuring full compliance with health & safety regulations risk assessments and statutory checks
Maintaining outdoor areas including playgrounds pathways and car parks
Assisting with room setups for meetings events and assemblies
Responding swiftly to emergencies maintenance issues and operational needs
This role requires someone who can work independently take initiative and manage time effectively while maintaining high standards.
Experience and Qualifications
Previous caretaking facilities or maintenance experience desirable
Strong practical skills across DIY repairs and basic maintenance
Reliable professional and confident working independently
Good communication and organisational skills
Understanding of site security and health & safety procedures
Willingness to complete training such as COSHH First Aid or H&S certifications
