Job Summary:
This position is for an Occupational Therapist working in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. The role involves managing a caseload of 50-60 patients providing occupational therapy services and working one weekend per month. The therapist will work 5x8 day shifts and may be required to float within their scope of practice to meet facility needs.

Responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload of 50-60 patients.
- Providing occupational therapy services in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
- Performing patient assessments evaluations and developing treatment plans.
- Implementing therapeutic interventions to improve patients functional abilities.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Completing documentation and charting accurately and in a timely manner.
- Providing patient and family education.
- Participating in discharge planning.
- Ensuring patient safety and adhering to facility policies and procedures.
- Answering unit phone and directs calls accordingly.
- Performs data entry into electronic medical database systems.
- Documents patient care and related duties appropriately.
- Performs selected patient registration activities.
- Coordinates equipment/supply needs.
- Notifies appropriate department of equipment malfunction.
- Performs any other related duties (e.g. clerical technical duties) as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience required.
- BLS certification.
- NBCOT certification.
- Active state license.
- Acute Care experience.
- Adaptive Equipment skills.
- Pre-Discharge Planning skills.
- Lifting and transfer skills.
- Patient/Family Education skills.
- Safety and injury prevention skills.
- Telephone skills.
- Assessment skills.
- Discharge skills.
- Evaluation skills.
- Plan of Care skills.
- Reassessment skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- None specified.
Special Considerations:
- Will work 1 weekend per month.
- May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs.
- Ideally no more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) during the assignment.
- Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without pay.
Scheduling:
- 5x8 day shifts (0800-1630).
- Schedule determined by the facility.
