Job Title: Freezer Hub Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Handle freezer samples: receive inventory label store track dispatch return and dispose of appropriately.

• Pick and dispatch samples within the Discovery Centre and to external sites.

• Organise and deliver presentations or training sessions on Freezer Hub processes and IT systems.

• Use tracking systems and communicate effectively with internal customers.

• Liaise with logistics teams for material movement and delivery.

• Perform preventative maintenance cleaning and documentation for fridges and freezers.

• Manage consumables and reagents including daily monitoring and replenishment of Point of Use (PoU) Kanban areas.

• Support operational laboratory tasks and maintain service levels for research groups.

• Maintain and organise consumable and reagent inventories.

• Keep communal areas clean and tidy; manage waste coordination.

• Ensure housekeeping of the Freezer Hub facility.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum GCSE in a science subject; A-levels or relevant experience required.

• Experience with inventory management systems and IT software.

• Presentation skills and experience engaging with customers or stakeholders.

• Laboratory experience preferred; a degree in a scientific discipline is advantageous.

• Strong customer service focus and collaborative approach.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

• Problem-solving ability and confidence in responding promptly.

• Excellent planning organisational and time management skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Knowledge of SHE requirements and GLP regulations in a lab environment.

• Flexible with working hours and site coverage when required.

• Self-motivated dependable and detail-oriented.
