The Team
BLNZs Insights team has a proud history of providing in-depth and objective analysis of the sheep and beef sector both behind the farm gate and as it relates to global markets producing robust and reputable information and insights in these areas.
The Role
Were looking for a Senior Agricultural Analyst to lead integrated analysis of on-farm and market data connecting production realities with domestic and global market dynamics. This role provides foresight and actionable insights that strengthen farmer resilience profitability and policy influence. You will:
Deliver sector intelligence and foresight by integrating farm market and trade data into reports and strategy briefs.
Analyse domestic and global livestock and meat markets trade flows and price trends.
Interpret on-farm survey data to identify structural changes and performance trends.
Develop models for productivity resilience and profitability.
Partner across teams to innovate with data modelling and forecasting tools.
Success
To be a success in this role you will have:
Passion for the farm sector ideally with practical on-farm experience.
Strong knowledge of agricultural economics farm systems and market analysis.
Skilled in quantitative and qualitative analysis modelling and data visualisation (Excel R Power BI or similar).
Tertiary qualification in farm management economics trade policy or related fields.
Minimum 5 years experience as an analyst preferably with some agricultural sector experience.
Excellent communication skills and ability to translate data into compelling insights
This role is ideally based in our Wellington office however may be based in one of our other New Zealand offices for the right candidate. You will be required to travel to represent Beef Lamb New Zealand and participate in regional and national collaborative processes or similar forums.
