Our client is an established practice operating across architecture urban design and planning. Their collaborative design-focused approach supports sustainable development for both public and private sector clients.
The Role
The appointed Senior Planner will take on a key position within a growing planning team supporting projects from initial concept through to completion. The role involves managing an independent caseload while also contributing to larger multi-disciplinary schemes in partnership with architects and urban designers.
The position offers regular interaction with clients local authorities and consultants alongside opportunities to develop leadership and commercial skills within a supportive collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing submitting and managing planning applications appeals and associated consents
- Conducting planning research policy reviews and providing clear professional advice
- Drafting planning statements appraisals appeal documentation and community engagement materials
- Coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams and liaising with local authorities and statutory bodies
- Supporting public consultation and stakeholder engagement activities
- Assisting with client relationship management business development and marketing initiatives
- Contributing to team development and sharing knowledge with colleagues
Essential Skills and Experience
- Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant planning discipline
- MRTPI qualification (or eligibility for full membership)
- Minimum of five years professional experience in town planning
- Excellent analytical and report-writing abilities with strong attention to detail
- Experience working on significant and/or complex development projects
- A proactive adaptable and collaborative approach
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
