Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled SAP ABAP Developer with strong expertise in migrating large-scale ABAP applications to SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). The ideal candidate should possess in-depth technical knowledge of ABAP on-premise ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) SAP BTP ABAP Environment (Steampunk) and experience in modernizing legacy codebases for cloud readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the assessment planning and execution of migrating custom ABAP applications from on-premise SAP systems (ECC/S/4HANA) to SAP BTP ABAP Environment.
Refactor and adapt existing ABAP code for cloud readiness using RAP and clean-core principles.
Develop and deploy cloud-ready applications using SAP BTP ABAP Environment CAP and Fiori/UI5 as needed.
Collaborate with architects and functional teams to define migration strategy architecture patterns and reusable components.
Ensure compliance with SAP clean core extensibility model and BTP governance guidelines.
Configure and utilize SAP Cloud Transport Management (cTMS) and Git-enabled Change and Transport System (gCTS).
Work on OData Services REST APIs and integration with SAP and non-SAP systems.
Perform code remediation optimization and custom code analysis using ATC (ABAP Test Cockpit) and CVI tools.
Provide post-migration support performance tuning and enhancements for migrated applications.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
68 years of experience in SAP ABAP development with at least 12 years focused on SAP BTP ABAP Environment / RAP model.
Strong knowledge in:
ABAP Object-Oriented Programming
RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model)
SAP BTP ABAP Environment (Steampunk)
Clean Core and Side-by-Side Extension Models
Experience with ATC SCI ADT (ABAP Development Tools) in Eclipse.
Hands-on with SAP Fiori/UI5 OData Services and Cloud Foundry environment.
Understanding of SAP S/4HANA its data structures and custom code adaptation for cloud.
Familiarity with SAP BTP services like Destination XSUAA Connectivity and SAP Event Mesh is a plus.
Preferred Skills (Good to Have):
Exposure to SAP Business Application Studio (BAS).
Knowledge of SAP CAP (Cloud Application Programming) model.
Experience with CI/CD pipeline for SAP BTP deployments.
Understanding of SAP Integration Suite API Management or Event-Driven Architecture.
