SUMMARY
This position reports to the Materials Supervisor and is responsible for scheduling and materials planning
activities which include demand planning generating a production schedule and/or sequencing work to
maximize production flow while meeting daily shipment requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Generate Production Schedules for areas assigned that meet customer ship date schedules
100% on time.
Level loads the schedule to achieve customer and daily/weekly order fill rates
Set and maintain inventory levels for all manufacturing items to support inventory goals.
Analyze and reduce excess inventory by implementing PFEP (Plan for Every Part) and Lean Manufacturing strategies.
Interface directly with customers service representatives to discuss demand requirements and
adjustments (Note. For intercompany requirements we can contact them directly).
Publish/maintain a Kanban for molded parts required to support Production Schedule for other areas.
Ensure there is no material shortage to meet production schedule and run 100% efficiently.
Close communication with the Production team to ensure the schedule is efficient achievable and priorities well defined across all shifts.
Analyze first time quality (FTQ) results for each department and apply them to schedule and material requirements.
Assist every day at production meetings to report on the BTS Shortages Priorities.
Ensure customer service representatives are well informed about production delays or any issue causing miss shipping dates.
Follow the escalation process for any schedule disruption.
Ensure customer drop-ins or rush requests/expedite orders are processed in a timely manner.
Develop a recovery plan/schedule when customer requirements are not met.
Audit bill of materials for accuracy and work with Engineering to update.
Cycle Counting: Monitor and performs cycle counts - physically counts all inventoried items and reconcile transactions in computer system.
Inventory Accuracy: Maintain accurate inventory records; Participate in physical inventories.
Communication: Communicate effectively with all office and manufacturing personnel at all levels of the organization.
Standard Work: Develops and maintains standard work documentation for this function.
Ensure scheduling systems information accuracy; as well as other functions assigned by the department manager.
Managing communication of updates to the customer to production to materials and to shipping across three shifts is the key function of this role.
