Mid-Level Software Engineer/Application Developer

We are seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer/Application Developerin Ridgecrest CA to develop breakthrough products and innovative software applications for government and commercial customers. As a software engineer/developer you work individually or on a small job supports future Distributed Maritime Operations (DMO) Anti-Surface & Strike Warfare (ASuW STW) Command Control Computers Communications Cyber and Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance and Targeting (C5ISR&T) Software Development. This includes integrated architectures for advanced kinetic/non-kinetic targeting systems mission planning systems and Composite Warfare Commander (CWC) battle management tactical decision aids.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Work with a team lead to define software requirements

• Design & develop system software for our customers

• Explore new areas or program in new languages to deliver a complete product

• Support on-site meetings and deliveries to customers

Basic Qualifications:

Clearance & Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen. Must have an active Secret Clearance.

Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field (additional experience accepted in lieu of degree)

Experience:

• Minimum of 4 years of applicable experience with at least 2 years of software development and/or object-oriented design and programming ideally including design coding and testing experience

• Experience with Web Services and JavaScript (e.g. ReactJS)

• Hands-on experience with Java JavaScript and/or C/C

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI Clearance

• Experience with Postgres and MySQL

• AWS and Azure experience

• Familiarity with Agile and/or DevSecOps procedures

• Software Tester / Quality Assurance Specialist (with >2 years of experience in software testing and >1 year of experience in software quality assurance).

• DevOps Engineer (with >4 years of experience in configuration control testing security automation containerization orchestration and cloud services open source technologies)

• Contractor Product Owner (with >2 years of experience in software management and managing a backlog of requirements)

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week

Basic Compensation: $88000-$121000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates location knowledge skills abilities and/or experience contract affordability and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses commissions or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus relocation benefits short term incentives long term incentives or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
