St Leonards College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Classroom Assistant to support our Junior School students and teachers in creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
This position offers an opportunity for an individual who is dedicated to supporting primary-aged students (Prep to Year 4) and enhancing their learning experience.
As a Classroom Assistant under the direction of the Classroom Teacher you will:
- Provide practical support to students assisting with the establishment of classroom routines.
- Support learning generally during class activities or by working with specific groups of students. This may include working across different classrooms based on Junior School requirements.
- Support students beyond the classroom including during specialist lessons special events recess and lunchtimes.
- Complete routine classroom administrative tasks and assist with the presentation of the classroom environment including organisation of materials and displaying students work.
- Assist in the provision of First Aid as required (including Anaphylaxis Asthma and Diabetes Management).
To be successful in this opportunity you will require:
- Qualifications in Education Support or equivalent.
- Current certification in First Aid Anaphylaxis Asthma and Diabetes Management.
- A genuine passion for working with primary-aged students (Prep to Year 4).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Flexibility initiative and a proactive approach to supporting learning.
- Excellent organisational and problem solving skills.
- Current Employee Working with Children Check (or VIT registration).
- Previous experience in a school setting or similar role would be highly regarded.
