Job Summary
Overview
Position Summary:
The Forge Press Operator must be capable of setting up a forge press in a minimal amount of time. The operation consists of transferring a heated billet to forged product by processing through a forge press which includes trim operation. The individual must be able to set-up and operate an induction heater reducer roll and pierce press. Duties include clean-up minor machine repair stocking of billets hopper feeding and other duties assigned by Supervisor.
Responsibilities
KEY TASKS
- Work from drawings specifications and formulas in manufacturing involving detail.
- The use of and interpretation of measuring instruments such as micrometers calipers scales electric meters and oscilloscopes.
- Set up and operation of Forge Press.
- Set up and operation of Induction Heater.
- Set up and operation of reducer roll.
- Set up and operation of Pierce Press.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- The uses of judgment to comply with instructions.
- Work involves prescribed routines methods or practices which allow for the making of minor decisions.
- The ability to add subtract multiply and divide decimals and fractions.
