Job Description Summary
The Electrical Systems engineer will provide technical leadership and system expertise on electrical systems to improve installed wind turbine fleet tackle main electrical issues and meet customer requirements.
You will be responsible for Electrical system design & strategy system level trade-offs on possible solutions to address safety reliability and performance issues manage interfaces between subsystems and ensure integration & consistency of the different electrical subsystems. You will update DM1/2 documents as part of issue resolution process & update DFMEAs following fleet events. You contribute to design guidelines to continuously improve the product development and quality.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Conducts electrical components integration and interfaces for products in project execution and service phase requirements flow down of system level requirements to component level (reliability performance RAMs etc)
- Provide wind turbine and electrical system expertise to enhance product safety reliability and performance.
- Contribute to and approve system requirements (DM1/2)
- Contribute to and approve customer facing technical documents.
- Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system (from electrical perspective) including system level testing.
- Provides technical leadership on electrical design participates to or establishes design guidelines and best practices and reviews electrical detail design & changes from a system perspective and according to GE design practices.
- Responsible for complex assignments and RCAs with long-term business implications impacting the fleet technical success & reliability.
- Promote design for reliability and ensure the return of experience to the new product introduction
- Work closely with the Chief Engineering Office across the business and global team members to ensure high quality and consistency on systems design and trade off decisions.
- Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through analysis preparation and presentation of technical material to internal and external audiences
Qualifications
- Masters degree from an accredited university in Engineering
- Highly knowledgeable on electrical wind turbine components design criteria and wind turbine systems integration
- Strong technical aptitude interpersonal skills leading and influencing skills
- Field issues test and/or validation experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
- Ability to break-down complex issues determine possible courses of action and enable effective decision making
Desired characteristics
- Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience working on electrical systems related projects issues and/or technologies.
- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment
- System or product-level mindset and experience in engineering product development processes.
- Effective problem identification and solving ability (RCA).
- Knowledgeable on wind turbine Electrical Auxiliaries Power conversion systems High/Medium voltage systems and communication network
- Established project management skills.
