M&J Engineering D.P.C. is hiring an Environmental Engineering Leader for IAQ Asbestos Lead Mold services. This is an exciting opportunity to join our collaborative team of experienced engineers architects scientists and other professionals.

Summary/Objective
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Industrial Hygienist/NYDOL Licensed Asbestos Inspector/Investigator Mold Assessor and/or EPA Lead Risk Assessor to join our growing NYC team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that the properties meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. The Inspector will be responsible for conducting thorough Indoor Air Quality Assessments (including lead asbestos and mold) in schools and other buildings and maintaining accurate records of findings.
Responsibilities
- Under supervision conduct environmental indoor air quality and other hazardous materials surveys.
- Collect detailed field notes and photographs of site conditions and findings.
- Prepare chain-of-custody documents for analytical testing recording survey data on approved forms completely and legibly.
- Ability to compose detailed sample location maps.
- Compile and organize data for report. Present data and make recommendations to upper-level staff on recommendations. Prepare reports or portions of reports detailing survey/project information.
- After training use standard and specialized equipment such as hand tools for collection of building material samples high volume and low volume pumps rotometer XRF analyzer moisture meter mold pump infrared camera IAQ meter peristaltic pumps photo-ionization detector low-flow groundwater stabilization pumps and/or others.
- After training ability to calibrate instruments use equipment in the field download data clean and maintain equipment.
- Implement M&Js health and safety policies and procedures.
- Approval to drive a company vehicle or rental vehicles valid Drivers License and clean driving record.
- Travel locally and regionally to project sites as required.
- Work night and weekend shifts as needed up to 20%
- Conduct inspections of NYC properties to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Collect and analyze data related to product quality and performance identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Implement and maintain industry standards throughout the inspection process.
- Collaborate with inspection teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Document inspection results accurately and maintain comprehensive records in accordance with quality systems. Maintain records of inspections sample collection and analysis results.
- Knowledge of local state and federal regulations pertaining to lead and water quality inspection and management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to interact effectively with clients contractors and other stakeholders
Qualifications
- NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector License
- NYSDOL Mold Assessor
- EPA Risk Assessor
- Bachelors Degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in related field.
