Job Summary:
The Radiation Therapist will be responsible for providing radiation therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by a physician. This includes accurately positioning patients administering radiation doses monitoring patients for reactions and maintaining treatment records. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
Location:Eureka California United States
Responsibilities:
- Accurately position patients for radiation therapy treatments.
- Administer prescribed radiation doses according to treatment plans.
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects during treatment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed treatment records.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and quality assurance measures.
- Collaborate with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Assist in the preparation and calibration of radiation therapy equipment.
- Provide patient education and support regarding treatment procedures and potential side effects.
- Perform data entry into electronic medical database systems.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Prior experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Special Considerations:
- Must be willing to float between units as needed.
- RTO (request time off) must be included at the time of submission.
- Facility is able to call off once per two week pay period.
Scheduling:
- Day shift 8 hours.
- 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
- Schedule determined per manager discretion.
