TABER CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL

Taber Christian High School is a grade 9-12 school. Our 17 staff members provide service to approximately 130 students in the town of Taber Alberta. Our mission is to provide a Christian educational environment which uses biblical teaching to prepare all students to reach their full potential so they can serve God and others with a Christ-like attitude.

Regular Educational Assistant: approx. 29 hours/week

Hours of work include- Monday - Thursday 8:30 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. & Friday - 8:30 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.

Taber Christian High School is looking for an educational assistant to support in our grade 9 and grade 10 math classes.

An EducationalAssistantin Horizon School Division:

• Encourages studentsto develop and maintainpositiveinteraction.
• Maintains confidentialityand a patient supportive and enthusiasticcommitmentto students.
• As required provides personal care including toileting diapering feeding dressing grooming etc. ensuringthat studentdignity is maintained. Attends to physical needs including lifting positioning and range of motion programs as identified by appropriate personnel.
• Ensures the safety of students in the school and community which includes maintaining close supervision of students ensuring studentequipment is sanitized and put away retrieving students who attemptto leave their learningenvironment calming and/or restraining students engaged in challenging behaviours; supervising and assisting studentswho utilize a variety of life skill tools (i.e. scissors cooking utensils etc.).
• Maintains collegial relationships with the students learning team.
