Position Summary
The English department seeks a passionate and energetic teacher to a fill full-time regular teaching position beginning August 2026. Candidates should be interested in being part of a collaborative group of teachers and working with highly motivated high school students in a diverse mostly residential community. Successful applications will demonstrate candidates ability and willingness to be active participants in the Academys academic extracurricular and residential programs.
Academic Position Requirements
All members of our department teach reading writing and discussion skills to a diverse student body in grades 9-12. We welcome prospective colleagues who will creatively contribute to a writing curriculum that values the development of voice and skill and a literature curriculum that includes a range of authors genres and historical periods. Enthusiasm for work with adolescents inside and outside the classroom is essential.
- An advanced degree in English or a related field is preferred
- Experience teaching in a classroom setting for a minimum of 2 years. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- A commitment to diversity equity and inclusion and to serving the needs of a diverse community.

- Clean Driving record (upon hire and reviewed annually).
Compensation for this position is determined using a structured 25 step system that accounts for relevant years of professional teaching experience and highest degree earned. The salary range is $55566 (step 1) to $123480 (step 25).
