SWRMC is seeking a Board-Certified/Eligible Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physicianto join our Inpatient Rehabilitation Teamin a part-time (.6 FTE)capacity. This is an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality patient-centered rehabilitative care within a collaborative multidisciplinary hospital-based environment.
Position Overview
The PM&R Physician will provide medical oversight and direct patient care for a 6-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit partnering closely with therapy services nursing case management and hospital leadership to support functional recovery and safe transitions of care.
This role is ideal for a physician seeking meaningful clinical impact predictable scheduling and work-life balance while remaining engaged in inpatient rehabilitation medicine.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the attending physician for patients admitted to the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
- Serve as theIPRunit Medical Director leading quality efficiency and clinical performance improvement efforts
- Perform comprehensive rehabilitation evaluations and ongoing medical management
- Collaborate with physical therapy occupational therapy speech therapy nursing and case management teams
- Lead interdisciplinary team conferences care planning and transitions
- Ensure consistent compliance with CMS accreditation and documentation standards for inpatient rehab
- Support quality safety and patient experience initiatives within the rehab program
- Coordinate care with referring physicians hospitalists and post-acute providers as needed

Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Certified/Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
- Eligible for or currently licensed in the state of Virginia
- Inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred
- Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and communication skills
