What impact youll make
As a People Leader in the Gas Turbine Controls Technology Value Stream you will be responsible for leading a talented engineering team to use system thinking in developing validating and productizing advanced gas turbine controls solutions delivering on critical business KPIs in support of our global customers. You will play a pivotal role in defining a year-over-year roadmap for technology development across the HA Gas Turbine portfolio aligning technology upgrades with business goals and prioritizing safety & quality in the designs first and then delivery and cost. You will champion a culture of continuous improvement by applying Lean principles and servant leadership practices empowering engineering teams to identify and act on process improvement opportunities.

In parallel you will lead the development and implementation of lean operational structures mechanisms and performance metrics to optimize team output control costs and enhance reliability. Your role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teamsincluding design engineering program management and operationsas well as Controlled Title Holders and Lean Coaches to ensure alignment between technical execution and business outcomes.

As a People Leader you will help drive the GE Vernova Way principles by providing mentorship and career coaching to your team members and establishing regular engagement checkpoints.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

As the Engineering Manager for Gas Turbine Controls Value Stream you will:

  • Attract engage and grow your employees uphold integrity role-model the GE Vernova Way and create the conditions for our employees to do the same.
  • Inspire and motivate the team; invest in the teams leadership and technical growth.
  • Own & Lead People Performance and Growth (PPG) process with responsibility for employee development & performance management.
  • Lead an engineering team in the design validation and commissioning of HA gas turbine technology control system solutions for New Unit and Services business lines.
  • Partner with cross-functional design team leadership to collaborate on strategy and schedules for new technology introductions.
  • Pro-actively collaborate with the commercial and ITO teams to drive business growth opportunities through software value solutions.
  • Establish daily management rhythm on monitoring and driving strong sense of ownership accountability & urgency within the team in meeting critical business KPIs.
  • Own manage & meet all functional budgets advocating for funding necessary to execute on deliverables to create value for our customers.
  • Remove barriers so the team can effectively address complex technical problems during the NPI development phase.
  • Establish prioritization guidelines and manage demand vs capacity to fulfill on the assigned portfolio while respecting the psychological safety of the team.
  • Provide strategic technology leadership drive continuous improvement and establish structure in place to drive quality & productivity improvements. Leverage Lean tools to evaluate and drive positive change.
  • Champion consensus-building and effective communication of complex information across diverse stakeholders influencing outcomes critical to project success.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical Mechanical Aerospace Chemical or Computer)
  • Minimum 8 years working experience in engineering with at least 3 years in a technology development focused space.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in a matrix structure organization working cross-functionally.

Desired Qualifications

  • MS degree in Engineering (Electrical Mechanical Aerospace Chemical or Computer).
  • Strong influencing communication presentation & project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document plan market and execute programs.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully leading a diverse cross-functional global team.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire motivate and foster a positive high-energy environment within the team driving enthusiasm for project success and continuous improvement.
  • Familiar with Lean has led/participated in Kaizen/VSM.
  • Experience in talent development coaching and performance management.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of gas turbine technology applying expertise to engineering challenges.
  • Working knowledge of GEV Controls platform and tools.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is between $131700.00 and $219300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
