Position: Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Coralville IA)
Job Overview: The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is a key leader responsible for driving manufacturing excellence across a wide range of processes including injection molding machining assembly extrusion dipping welding and new product development. This role leads cross-functional teams to execute strategic programs aligned with Operations Leadership prioritiesfocusing on capacity and capability improvements cost reduction quality enhancement automation and capital investment. The ideal candidate brings broad multidisciplinary manufacturing expertise and a proven track record of implementing innovative scalable solutions.

What you will be doing as a Senior Manufacturing EngineerProcess Optimization & Continuous Improvement Identify and implement improvement opportunities across injection molding machining and high-level disinfection processes.
Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to eliminate waste and resolve complex manufacturing issues.
Optimize process parameters tooling design workflow and equipment utilization.
Injection Molding Provide technical leadership using best practices to increase process stability and product consistency.
Lead injection molding capacity and capability upgrades cost-out initiatives and quality improvements.
Manage injection moldingrelated capital investment projects.
Machining & Fabrication Apply machining expertise (CNC milling turning etc.) to improve workflows accuracy and efficiency.
Partner with machining teams to reduce waste and drive process improvements.
Lead machining-related capital investment projects.
Coagulant Dipping Provide technical leadership in coagulant dipping processes and equipment.
Lead automation and quality enhancement projects related to dipping operations.
New Product Development Work with project design and quality engineering teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and develop robust production processes for new product launches.
Team Leadership & Mentorship Lead and motivate cross-functional teams to meet project goals on time and within budget.
Mentor tool designers process technicians operators and manufacturing personnel.
Promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Capital Investment Lead capital projects involving injection molding and machining equipment.
Collaborate with vendors to ensure accurate equipment specifications procurement and installation.
Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate documentation of processes procedures and improvement activities.
Prepare and deliver reports on project status performance metrics and improvement outcomes.
Automation & Advanced Manufacturing Identify evaluate and implement emerging automation technologies (robotics vision systems advanced sensors etc.).
Champion new automation solutions develop business cases pilot technologies and scale successful implementations.
Lead cross-functional innovation initiatives to bring advanced automation into production environments and support a smart manufacturing roadmap.
Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Senior Manufacturing EngineerEducation & Experience Bachelors degree in engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 years of experience in injection molding machining automation rheology or coagulant dipping (preferred).
Project management experience (PMP preferred but not required) and/or Lean Six Sigma certification.
Proven hands-on experience with injection molding fundamentals including material processing mold design/fabrication mold optimization part design best practices tooling maintenance and press operation.
Skills & Abilities Strong interpersonal organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to lead teams manage multiple projects and deliver results in fast-paced environments.
Solid understanding of manufacturing equipment processes and product requirements.
