Job Summary

PURPOSE

Execute the Marketing BUs daily voyage operations and post fixture activities of the chartered fleet.

KEY TASKS

Safety Health & Environment 

  • Ensure all Ship vetting activities are completed and in compliance with Anglo American ship standards
  • Operate vessels in a safe manner with care for crew

Performance & Delivery 

  • Operate fleet of T/C and V/C ships
  • Manage distribution of Captains Instructions Agent Instructions bunkering procedures to all ships and onshore parties.
  • Coordinate for the pre-stow plan by the considering the port restrictions
  • Monitor follow-up and execute operational procedures on the chartered fleet.
  • Monitor the vessels performance trend and take necessary remedial actions to optimize by using weather routing systems or similar.
  • Negotiate with owners of laytime calculations strictly in accordance with C/P terms and conditions and close the voyage account according to C/P.
  • Prepare Hire statement for T/C-out ships and arrange hire payment for T/C-ins

Qualifications :

Qualifications:

  • Preferred - Degree educated with a qualification as commercial or transport engineer or equivalent vocational degree.
  • An understanding of the shipping markets macro environments and the commercial considerations affecting transactions.
  • Familiar with international shipping terms for dry bulk market
  • Min 5 years experience in commercial operations of various bulk cargoes
  • Strong ability to prioritise deliverables under pressure.

Specific Knowledge requirements:

  • Ship Management & Commercial Ship Operations
  • Legislation requirements (ISM ISPS IMO)
  • Ocean Transport principles
  • Charter-party knowledge
  • Good knowledge of trades cargoes and ports in the WCSA and Pacific basins.
  • Compliance with safety practices and norms
  • Knowledge of Veslink or other similar software an advantage
  • IMOS/Veslink preferred

Shipping and Logistics for Delivered Sales - Manage shipping of commodities efficiently and effectively to generate value including chartering operations and scheduling.

Other Requirements

  • Fluent English
  • Travel will be required subject to commercial needs.
  • Working from office in Santiago with some hybrid possibilities.
  • Health compatible with sites works.
