Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager in organizing project cost structure in Oracle ERP
• Participate in customer internal and/or supplier project kickoff meetings and support the Project Director with preparation & coordination of customer internal and/or supplier kickoff meetings
• Monitor project budgets and schedules and raise issues to the Project Manager and Project Director
• Monitor task and coordinate with functional support teams to resolve issues
• Monitor project trends and work with functional support organizations to correct adverse trends on the project
• Develop and maintain a project roster including assigning and monitoring timely completion of project related training activities
• Develop and issue the Project Management Plan and related project plans and project procedures; facilitate the implementation of project plans and project procedures across the larger project team
• Project administration and configuration management of project documentation to assist the Project Manager
• Support the development and deployment of project infrastructure and project tools
• Support coordination of project activities; monitor and control progress on project deliverables
• Ensure the conformance of project deliverables with contract and project requirements
• Organize and archive project correspondence and records consistent with Project Configuration Management Plan
• Lead draft and issue project management meeting notes action item lists and project progress reports

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college and 2 years experience as a project manager
• OR a high school diploma / GED with at least 5 years of experience working on projects
• Proven professional experience in project management engineering or business

Eligibility Requirements

• The preferred work location for this role is at the GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) Markham Ontario Canada location but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.
• This role requires access to U..S. export-controlled information. If applicable final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. government.

Desired Characteristics

• Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or STEM
• Nuclear power experience in operations or engineering
• Proficient with project management software tools (Primavera MS Project etc)
• Fundamental-level financial or accounting knowledge
• Experience or familiarity with Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) or Sodium Fast Reactor (SFR) designs
• Knowledge of the power industry customer and competitive environment
• Financial control knowledge and understanding
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel PowerPoint Word Outlook etc.)
• Demonstrated organizational skills particularly when related to project execution
