Organization Overview:
YPR is a national peer-led organization that serves youth and young adults in recovery from substance use disorder. YPR aims to improve access to resources such as housing education and employment that sustain long-term recovery.
Vision:Young People in Recovery envisions a world where all young people have the resources they need to thrive in recovery from addiction to drugs and alcohol.

YPRs mission is to provide the life skills and peer supports to help people recover from substance use disorder and reach their full potential.
Chapter Vision and Overview:
Young People in Recovery Chapters support people in or seeking recovery by providing community-based recovery support services. Chapters also advocate on the local and state levels for more access to these services and other effective recovery resources. This peer-based network relies on quarterly workshops monthly pro-social events and regular all-recovery meetings.

Essential Responsibilities:
Note: This position ispart-timeat20 hours per week
General Responsibilities
Respond to all communications from YPR employees within 24 business hours unless alternative arrangements have been approved in advance with the supervisor. (Includes text phone email Slack etc.)
Celebrate both large and small victories while identifying and addressing bottlenecks or barriers the chapter may be experiencing.
Comply with all YPR reporting procedures including ADP time tracking Concur expense reporting Salesforce/Community updates and census reports.
Communicate regularly with the supervisor to ensure data collection is conducted with fidelity EPIC site implementation runs smoothly and any challenges are effectively resolved.
Coordinate and align team members across all chapter projects including social media marketing community outreach communications financial reporting and advocacy initiatives.
Obtain and maintain all required training and certifications as directed by the organization or supervisor including but not limited to Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA).
Chapter Lead Responsibilities
Complete YPRs online interactive orientation and review the YPR Leadership Handbook.
Conduct community outreach and submit outreach reports in YPR Community.
Bring Chapter members together to foster collaboration learning and skill development within a supportive environment.
Host at minimum:
One (1) weekly public All Recovery Meeting
all in alignment with grant deliverables.
One (1) monthly Pro-Social Event
all in alignment with grant deliverables.
One (1) quarterly YPR-approved Workshop
all in alignment with grant deliverables.
Communicate weekly with the National Chapter Coordinator.
Engage in grassroots community organizing through email phone calls and in-person meetings.
Participate in statewide advocacy initiatives and report progress and completed tasks in YPR Community.
Register Chapter leaders members and supporters using the appropriate platforms (YPR Community YPR website and RCI).
Secure free or low-cost venues for Chapter meetings and events (e.g. community centers libraries etc.).
Collaborate with other YPR Chapter Leads to plan statewide events and advocacy efforts.
Promote and support all pathways of recovery.
Utilize RCI and chapter-specific keywords to engage participants and track chapter activities.
Host at least one (1) virtual National All Recovery Meeting each calendar year.
Attend and participate in one (1) monthly All Chapter Call.
Attend or view the recording of one (1) All Team/All Staff Meeting each quarter.
Meet with the National Chapter Coordinator after 12 months to review and discuss establishing a Chapter Advisory Board.
Use social media to promote Chapter events national campaigns and initiatives with marketing team support as needed.
Attend all YPR Academies; if attendance is not possible complete the YPR Academy module in the Learning Portal when available or view the recording.

Actively champion diversity equity inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) initiatives.
Continuously strive to improve personal performance and contribute to organizational excellence.
Use data to inform decision-making enhance outcomes and guide organizational development.
Perform other related duties and marginal functions as assigned.

Compensation: $21.50/hour; 20 hours/week

Understanding of substance use prevention and recovery
Positive and supportive attitude toward all pathways of recovery
Sensitivity and awareness of the unique needs and stigmas associated with underserved populations
Excellent organizational communication and leadership skills
Preferred qualifications:
Personal experience in recovery
Experience working successfully with young adults
Experience working successfully with people with substance use disorders
Experience working successfully with diverse communities
Previous training and certification in trauma-informed response cultural competency and peer education
Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Technology/computer/virtual meeting experience required
Google Suite experience preferred
