Job Title: Cisco Wireless Field Engineer
Schedule: 40 hours/week 5 days onsite per week - (On-site with travel throughout Connecticut)
Duration- 3-6 months
Location: Hartford CT
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate existing Cisco wireless infrastructure including access points controllers configurations and signal coverage.
- Document findings and provide clear actionable recommendations.
- Implement remediation efforts based on assessment results (e.g. reconfiguration optimization hardware adjustments).
- Troubleshoot wireless performance issues and ensure stable secure connectivity.
- Communicate progress issues and results with project leads and stakeholders.
- Ensure all work aligns with Cisco best practices and institutional requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience with Cisco wireless technologies including access points controllers and associated tools.
- Hands-on experience performing wireless assessments diagnostics and remediation.
- Ability to interpret wireless heatmaps coverage reports and performance metrics.
- Comfortable working fully on-site and traveling throughout Connecticut.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and technical documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA CCNP Wireless or related.
- Prior experience working in higher education environments.
- Experience with wireless design tools (e.g. Ekahau AirMagnet).
