Job Summary

Job Title: Cisco Wireless Field Engineer

Schedule: 40 hours/week 5 days onsite per week - (On-site with travel throughout Connecticut)

Duration- 3-6 months

Location: Hartford CT

Responsibilities:

Evaluate existing Cisco wireless infrastructure including access points controllers configurations and signal coverage.
Document findings and provide clear actionable recommendations.
Implement remediation efforts based on assessment results (e.g. reconfiguration optimization hardware adjustments).
Troubleshoot wireless performance issues and ensure stable secure connectivity.
Communicate progress issues and results with project leads and stakeholders.
Ensure all work aligns with Cisco best practices and institutional requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Strong experience with Cisco wireless technologies including access points controllers and associated tools.
Hands-on experience performing wireless assessments diagnostics and remediation.
Ability to interpret wireless heatmaps coverage reports and performance metrics.
Comfortable working fully on-site and traveling throughout Connecticut.
Strong problem-solving abilities and technical documentation skills.
Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Cisco certifications such as CCNA CCNP Wireless or related.
Prior experience working in higher education environments.
Experience with wireless design tools (e.g. Ekahau AirMagnet).
