Description
As a PA in Orthopedic Surgery you will play a critical role in supporting orthopedic surgeons and ensuring patients receive exceptional care. You will work closely with medical professionals to assist in procedures manage patient evaluations and contribute to the overall success of our healthcare recruitment efforts. Responsibilities
- Assist orthopedic surgeons in various procedures and surgeries
- Conduct patient evaluations and medical histories
- Provide patient education and support throughout the treatment process
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop treatment plans
- Monitor patients progress and adjust care as necessary
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Participate in patient follow-up and post-operative care
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in orthopedic practices
Requirements
- Relevant degree and certification as a Physicians Assistant
- Strong interest in orthopedic surgery and patient care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of orthopedic terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-5p
1:4 weekday call rotation and 1 weekend per month
Outpatient Procedures: Digital blocks regional anesthesia tendon repair wound closure wound management wound debridement incision and drainage needle biopsy K-wire removal and hardware removal
Diagnostic & Therapeutic Procedures: Joint and bursa aspirations closed reduction of fractures and dislocations injections of joints tendons trigger points and bursa as well as brace cast and splint applications
Surgical Assist: First assist deep and superficial tissue closures application of appliances etc.
Support Staff: PAs surgeons etc.
EMR: Meditech
Must be board-certified
