Job Summary
The sky is no longer the limit as Nidec takes its technology off the ground and into the Aerospace market. As a Application Engineer with the Nidec Aerospace team you will have the opportunity to apply and develop your expertise to design electric propulsion systems for the battery-powered aircrafts that will enable the world to sustainably and efficiently get from point A to point B.Nidec is the worlds leading electric motor manufacturer and a true pioneer in electrification across a wide array of industries since its foundation in 1973 ranging from appliance energy infrastructure to ground transportation. Nidec Aerospace is a newly created Joint Venture between Nidec and Embraer which intends to take a leading role in the Electrification of Aircrafts. We are well-positioned and excited to support the aerospace industry in its ambitious transition to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

From ideation to production you will work with a diverse and experienced team of design engineers to support aerospace industry leaders and spearhead technological advances in transport decarbonization.
Job Description
Responsibilities include:
Provideonline and in-persontechnical support to customersregardingelectric motorselection application and integration.
Conduct feasibility studies and technical analyses to evaluate the performance and efficiency of electric motor systems.
Assistin the design and development of custom electric motor solutions to meet customer specifications.
Provide training and guidance to customers and internal teams on electric motor technology and best practices.
Identifyopportunities for product improvements or new product development based on market trends and customer feedback.
Participate in customer meetings presentations and technical discussions to supportstatic and flight test campaignsand address technical inquiries.
Work closely with engineering teams tooptimizemotor designs for specific applications and performance requirements.
Plan andparticipatein prototype buildsproduction startup activities and production support activities throughoutproductlife cycle.
Familiarity with FMEA Control Plans and other technical documentation.Participate in First Piece Articleinspection/APQP/PPAPprocessesfor newly specified components.
Lead prototype builds/teardown analysis ofnewdriversand design validation testing
Lead technical design reviews for newly developed solutions with cross functional teams
Perform these and other duties and responsibilities through self-initiative leadershipand collaboration to achievenew product developmentgoals.
RequiredKnowledge& Skills:
BS MechanicalEngineering Electrical EngineeringAerospaceEngineeringor related field.
3or moreyears related work experience in electric motorsand drivesor similar industrya plus.
Familiarity with using 3D modelingsoftware.Creo3D CAD solid modeling skills in supporting new product designspreferred.
Familiarity withreading 2D drawings and specifications.
Experiencewithdiecastingsmachinedpartscompositesand/orinjectionmoldedplastics.
Experience with electric motor testingsimulationand analysis tools.
Experience with high power electronics packaging is a plus.
Experienceusing materials common in the aerospace industry is a plus.
Design for Manufacturability.
Strongproblem-solving skillsand attention to detail.
Ability to workwith and learn fromacross functionalteam.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Creative out-of-the-box thinking.
Ability to handle competing demands andsupport multiple concurrent programs.
Experience withaviationDO-160G testing and DO-254 development.
Willingness to travel occasionally for tests and customer visits.
